I am familiar with the story (perhaps because we read excepts from Ovid in High School Latin?) but I did not recognize/remember the names.

Yep, I knew there might be someone who read the story in high school. Lots of Ovid school readers include that story. There's a description of a Roman dinner from eggs to apples that's always fun to review with students.
